A student hoping to complete their final year of study in the UK is facing uncertainty after being denied a UK student visa twice—despite claims of having fully answered all interview questions in detail.
According to a Reddit post, the applicant first applied for a UK student visa on August 28, 2024. A credibility interview followed on August 31, during which they were asked about their choice of the UK as a study destination, financial readiness, and comparisons with other countries. The applicant stated they answered thoroughly and even elaborated when questions were repeated, assuming the interviewer wanted more context.
Despite this, the application was refused on October 10, 2024. The refusal letter cited concerns that the applicant did not adequately explain their course content, university choice, or reasons for choosing the UK—issues the applicant insists were clearly addressed during the interview.
“I thought the interviewer wanted more details, so I provided additional explanations rather than just repeating myself,” the student explained.
After regrouping, the applicant submitted a second visa application on June 10, 2025. This time, the refusal came within a week, without a new interview. The decision referenced the previous interview, again concluding that the applicant was “not a genuine student.”
The back-to-back refusals have left the applicant disheartened and seeking guidance. “Is there any point in applying again, or should I consider other countries?” they asked.
One commenter responded, “You might want to explore options in countries like Australia or Canada. The UK can be particularly strict, especially after multiple visa rejections. An Administrative Review (AR) might help, but only if there was a legal or procedural error—not just because the visa officer wasn’t convinced.”
The commenter also noted that factors such as age—whether the applicant is a younger student or a mature one—can influence how closely their application is scrutinized. In any case, they strongly advised consulting a qualified immigration advisor before reapplying to avoid further setbacks.
