The US Embassy in India has announced the availability of thousands of student visa appointments across its Mission, aiming to meet growing demand ahead of the upcoming academic year. This move underscores the United States' continued commitment to strengthening educational ties with India.
In a recent post on social media platform X, the Embassy shared a digital poster stating, “Thousands of student visa appointments are available across MISSION INDIA,” along with a link for applicants to check country-specific appointment availability.
This follows a statement made in April 2024 by then-US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti, who emphasized that student visas are a top priority for the United States. He highlighted the lasting value of educational and people-to-people connections, noting the Mission's efforts to scale up its capacity in anticipation of more Indian applicants.
In 2023, the US consular team in India issued over 140,000 student visas—more than any other country for the third year in a row. Additionally, the US Mission in India processed a record 1.4 million visas across all categories last year.
