Starting 1 July 2025, the Australian Government will increase skilled visa income thresholds by 4.6% in line with the Annual Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE). This change delivers on a commitment under the Migration Strategy and recommendations from the Migration Review.

Nomination applications lodged on or after 1 July 2025 must meet the new thresholds or the annual market salary rate, whichever is higher.
Existing visa holders and nominations lodged before 1 July 2025 are not affected.
Make sure salary packages meet the higher threshold from 1 July.
Update internal HR systems and job offers ahead of this change.
