IIT Delhi Launches 6-Month Certificate Programme in Data Science and Machine Learning

New Delhi, June 2025 — The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has announced the launch of a new six-month online Certificate Programme in Data Science and Machine Learning, aimed at equipping professionals with essential skills in data analysis, programming, and AI technologies.

The programme is tailored for early to mid-career professionals seeking to build expertise in machine learning and data-driven decision-making. It will commence on June 29, 2025, and is priced at ₹1,50,000 plus GST.

Through this comprehensive course, participants will learn key concepts such as Python programming, data processing, machine learning algorithms, statistical techniques, deep learning, and data visualisation. Emphasis will be placed on practical applications and solving real-world business challenges.

The programme is open to graduates and diploma holders from recognised institutions, provided they have secured at least 50% marks in Mathematics or Statistics at the Class 12 level.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the course will be delivered entirely online, making it accessible to working professionals across the country. Participants will be assessed through three quizzes. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to those who achieve at least 50% marks in any two of the three quizzes and maintain a minimum 70% attendance. Those who meet a 90% attendance requirement but do not qualify through assessments will receive a Certificate of Participation.

The initiative aims to empower professionals managing or contributing to software and ML projects, as well as those looking to integrate data science into business operations. The curriculum is designed to make participants proficient in transforming raw data into actionable insights and developing predictive models that can drive innovation.

This programme is expected to attract working professionals, recent graduates, and individuals aiming to upskill in one of the most sought-after areas in the tech industry.
